In short: Quill is a reading tool that runs on your own computer. Use it as you like for lawful purposes. It comes with no warranty, and the content you read through it belongs to whoever published it.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of the Quill desktop application and this website, both provided by IAM_DEV ("we", "us"). By installing or using Quill you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Quill on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use. Distribution of Quill is governed by the terms of the Microsoft Store, through which it is supplied.
You may not:
- Resell, rent or redistribute the application as your own
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices it contains
3. Your data
Quill stores your subscriptions, downloaded articles and reading history only on your own computer. We have no access to any of it and hold no copy. Keeping backups of that data is your responsibility — if you delete the application's data folder, uninstall the application or lose the device, we cannot recover it for you. You can export your subscription list to an OPML file at any time.
4. Third-party content
Quill displays content published by websites you choose to follow. That content belongs to its respective publishers and is subject to their terms and copyright. We do not create, endorse, control or moderate it, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, legality or availability. You are responsible for ensuring your use of any content you retrieve through Quill complies with the publisher's terms and applicable copyright law.
Quill requests feeds only from addresses you supply or select. Please use it considerately and do not configure it in a way that places an unreasonable load on the sites you follow.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Quill only for lawful purposes, and not to use it to access material you are not entitled to access, to infringe anyone's intellectual property rights, or to interfere with the normal operation of any website or service.
6. Availability and changes
Quill is provided as a standalone application; there is no online service required for it to work, and therefore no uptime commitment. We may release updates that add, change or remove features. Because feeds are published by independent third parties, a site may change or withdraw its feed at any time, and we cannot guarantee that any particular site remains available through Quill.
7. Disclaimer of warranty
Quill is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the application will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Quill. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and you may have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its revision date. Continuing to use Quill after a change means you accept the revised terms.
