Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

In short: Quill runs entirely on your own computer. It has no user accounts, collects no analytics, and sends nothing about you anywhere. The only servers Quill contacts are the websites whose feeds you chose to follow.

Information we collect

None. Quill has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, usage statistics or crash reports. There is no analytics or telemetry of any kind in the application.

What Quill stores on your computer

Everything Quill knows about you stays in a single database file in your user folder, alongside a local log file used for troubleshooting. This includes:

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to us, not synced between machines, and not readable by anyone but you. Uninstalling Quill or deleting that folder removes it permanently.

Network connections Quill makes

Quill connects to the internet only to do the job you asked of it:

Quill sends no request to us, and there is no server operated by us involved in any of this. Fonts and icons are included in the application rather than loaded from the internet.

Third parties

We do not share, sell or transfer any information, because we do not hold any. The websites you subscribe to are independent of us and have their own privacy practices, which govern what they log when Quill requests their feed.

Children's privacy

Quill is a general-purpose reading tool that collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Any change that affects what data Quill handles will also be described in the app's release notes.
